Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.
hi :)
Prompt Response
There are lots of times when we have to step out of our comfort zone, it's just a part of life. I'd have to say one time I had to step out of my comfort zone was applying for this really sought-after weeklong music production session. Tens of thousands of people competing for a slot in the selected 35 participants. I wasn't actually going to apply for this opportunity, until I decided to step out of my comfort zone about preserving my music and sent off a small collection. I wasn't really expecting a response, until a few days later, surprisingly, I was chosen. It was such an incredible experience working with tons of A-list artists in the music industry, it was genuinely so exciting, and all because I decided to do something I wasn't confident in.

Reflection
You know, there's something about this poem that really bothers me, and it's the famous "perforce perceive taut truth" line. As humans, we are entrenched beings, and the fact that this necessity for the tight truth, and only objectivity, feels dissonant from the spirit of poetry. We, as humans, are incapable of the truth. Our entrenched thoughts make us believe of a truth that doesn't exist, but that's what makes a person's writing so beautiful and recognizable. If we wrote truth, we can never understand the nuances that make up each of our human conditions, because we would only speak of one possible thing, which is objectivity. I could be just misinterpreting what he said, but this line really stuck out to me cause it felt so alien. The truth is nice to know, but not everyone can hear or wants to listen to the truth, the fact that these people are ignorant makes the writing they make so special because it reveals so much more about how their mind works on the day to day.
